US authorizes transactions with En+, EuroSibEnergo until Oct 23
WASHINGTON, Jun 5 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Treasury Department has extended the deadline for investors to stop business with sanctioned Russian companies En+ Group and EuroSibEnergo until October 23, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said late on Monday.
Transactions, including imports of products and technologies, are allowed in this period. Agreements with these companies necessary for the subsequent termination of business in accordance with the sanctions regime can be concluded.
“General License 16 authorizes U.S. persons to engage in specified transactions related to winding down or maintaining business involving EN+ Group, EuroSibEnergo, or any entity in which EN+ Group or EuroSibEnergo owns, directly or indirectly, a 50% or greater interest, until October 23, 2018,” the statement said.
Previously, the U.S. extended the deadline for termination of contracts with RUSAL and GAZ Group, that were also hit by the U.S. sanctions in early April, until October 23.
